Since its establishment, the Women's Union has operated in the southern regions in general, and specifically in Sabha, with a clear vision and goals aimed at: advancing Libyan women in all fields, unleashing their energies and capabilities, and providing them with opportunities to participate and achieve a distinguished status by empowering them politically, economically, and socially. This is also achieved through awareness campaigns and combating violence against women. Since 2021, the Union has increased its focus and by 2017 included a project on gender-based violence through the "You Are the Nation" Center for Women's Support, Training, and Rehabilitation. This center places greater emphasis on supporting survivors of gender-based violence and alleviating the suffering of women in Sabha and its surrounding areas. This is accomplished through targeted awareness initiatives for women in various fields, including legal, health, and social sectors, as well as providing psychosocial support with the assistance of specialists and service providers. Additionally, external consultations from collaborators offer these services to women, along with case management training.
